The latest fuel price index levels, based on the Lufthansa
Cargo website--ending April 16, 2004 and April 23, 2004--have
reached 196 and 204 respectively. As per the surcharge mechanism
agreed upon, when the index level reaches the 190 or above
trigger point for two consecutive weeks, a higher fuel surcharge
will be levied by the airlines, as follows:

The new surcharge took effect May 11, 2004,
following a two-week notice from the Board of Airline Representatives-Cargo
Sub-committee, to air cargo forwarders.
