Due to drop in the cargo fuel index in the past two weeks, Cathay Pacific Airways, Dragonair and other airlines have applied to adjust the cargo fuel surcharge downwards from the existing
level. The changes, to take effect from 22 June 2010, are as follows:
PRESENT
Long haul: HK$ 5.20 per kg
Short haul: HK$2.60 per kg
Effective 22 June 2010:
Long haul: HK$4.80 per kg
Short haul: HK$2.40 per kg
Meanwhile, as an indicator of the range of import fuel surcharges, the latest British Airways World Cargo Fuel Surcharge on its website is GBP0.49 / USD0.75 / EUR0.67 or local currency equivalent.
