The Honourable James Tien Pei-Chun, currently a member
of the Legislative Council, serving on the Panel on Economic
Service, and a member of the Central & Western District
Council, was Chairman of the Hong Kong Shippers' Council in
1985 to 1988. He is Chairman of the Liberal Party. He is GC
member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and
Federation of Hong Kong Industries, a Court Member of the
Hong Kong Polytechnic University and member of the University
Council of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The Hon James Tien has been Chairman of the following organisations
successively: The Clothing & Footwear Institute (HK) Branch,
1986-88; Yan Chai Hospital Board of Directors, 1986-87; Hong
Kong Productivity Council, 1989-93; Hong Kong Garment Manufacturers
Association, 1990-94; Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce,
1996-98.
The Hon James Tien was a member of the Consultative Committee
for the Basic Law of the HKSAR of the PRC from 1985 to 1990,
and the Ninth National People's Congress Election Panel in
1997.
