Air Cargo Fuel Surcharge
While airlines approved by the HKSAR’s Civil Aviation Department have been charging fuel surcharge levels ranging from HK$3.70 on the shorthaul, to HK$10 for longhaul routes, exports from Europe have had to contend with levels of HK$13 or more. Frankfurt-based Lufthansa Cargo raised its fuel surcharge to EUR 1.15/kg, effective from 9 June, from EUR 1.10/kg (announced on 26 May). Cathay Pacific Airways charges GBP 0.85/kg ex-UK (Manchester and Heathrow), while British Airways has a varied average depending on weight (www.baworldcargo.com/surcharges/).

Shippers please note that the following shipping lines are NOT collecting $10 at their depots:

  3. Hamburg Sud Hong Kong Ltd
  4. Hanjin Shipping Co Ltd
  5. Evergreen Marine (Hong Kong) Ltd
  6. CMA CGM & ANL (HK) Shipping Agencies Ltd

The Hong Kong Container Tractor Owner Association Limited has provided the following list of the depots that are collecting/not collecting the fee on 1st April 2008:
