With effect from 1 January 2009, the ICAO has updated the requirements for shipping lithium batteries by air in the 2009-2010 edition of the ICAO Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods (TI). To facilitate compliance by industries, a guidance document including the complete regulatory shipping requirements for lithium batteries (Packing Instructions) and the FAQ on the new requirements are uploaded by ICAO as follows:-
