MR. CHAN WING KEE is Managing Director of Yangtzekiang Garment Limited; Director of YGM Trading Limited; Director of Hong Kong Knitters Limited.

Mr. Chan is a Standing Committee Member of the 10th & 11th People's Political Consultative Committee of The People's Republic of China, Member of The Selection Committee of the H.K.S.A.R.  He was also a Deputy to the 8th and 9th National People's Congress of China, a member of Hong Kong Affairs Adviser; a committee member of The Preparatory Committee of H.K.S.A.R.; a member of Basic Law Consultative Committee both in Hong Kong and Macau; Ex-Member of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission of Hong Kong; Ex-Chairman of Small and Medium Enterprises Committee of the H.K.S.A.R.

Dr Dennis H S Ting, OBE, JP

Honorary Chairman

DR. DENNIS H.S. TING served as Chairman of the Hong Kong Shippers' Council from 1980 to 1985, one of the many community services he has rendered Hong Kong through the years.

He served as Chairman of the following: Hong Kong Q-Mark Council, 1988-1995; Hong Kong Toys Council, 1986-1995; Federation of Hong Kong Industries, 1984-1989; Hong Kong Industrial Design Council, 1982-1985; Hong Kong Packaging Council, 1980-1982; and Hong Kong Exporters' Association, 1970-1971.

Dr Ting has been Honorary President of the Hong Kong Q-Mark Council since 1990. Dr Ting is Chairman of the Board of Kader Holdings Co Ltd and Qualidux Industrial Co Ltd, both major Hong Kong toy manufacturers. The companies have produced both OEM and private label toys, among them the world famous Barbie Dolls, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Star Wars, as well as McDonald's premiums. Qualidux, in recent years, has developed its own proprietorial brands in plastic furniture, folding tables, puzzles, super 8mm movie viewers and bathroom accessories. Meanwhile, Kader's Bachmann Industries, Inc division which it acquired in 1982, is one of America's oldest existing corporations, going back to 1833. Bachmann is a top international brand in model rail products.

Dr Ting was made a Justice of the Peace in 1977, and awarded Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1988. He has also been a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Mr. James Tien Pei Chun, GBS, JP

Honorary Chairman

MR JAMES TIEN PEI-CHUN  is Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), an organisation that promotes Hong Kong as a leading travel destination worldwide, thereby maximising the social and economic contribution that tourism makes to the community of Hong Kong.

Besides chairing the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Mr Tien is also a Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference,
Hong Kong.

As well as sitting on the Committee on Governance and Political Development of the Commission on Strategic Development, he is currently Court Member of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Council Member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Member of Aviation Development Advisory Committee. He served as Member of the Legislative Council from 1988 to 2008 and was Chairman of the Liberal Party from 1998 to 2008.

Mr Tien has extensive experience in the commercial and manufacturing sectors, and is currently Chairman of the privately held Manhattan Holdings Limited. Having been Chairman of the former Legislative Council Economic Services Panel (currently known as Economic Development Panel) for nine years, he has thorough knowledge of
Hong Kong’s economic developments, including the tourism industry. He was Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce from 1996 to 1998, and remains a General Committee Member of the Chamber, as well as the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.

Mr Tien was born in
Shanghai and was educated at the Diocesan Boys’ School in Hong Kong. After graduating from the University of Illinois in the United States with a Bachelor of Science degree, he went on to gain a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the San Jose State University. He is married with two children.

 

Lin Sun Mo, Willy, SBS, MBE, JP

Present Chairman

MR. WILLY LIN is Chairman of the Hong Kong Shippers' Council (HKSC), and concurrently Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation (HKECIC) and the Textile Council of Hong Kong. He is Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI), Chairman of the Logistics Services Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Prince Philip Dental Hospital, and a Member of the Hong Kong Port Development Council and Logistics Development Council. He is also Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association and the Hong Kong Knitwear Exporters’ and Manufacturers’ Association.

The Shippers’ Council, which is composed of 15 trade associations, including the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, is mandated to protect and promote the interests of Hong Kong exporters and importers, traders and manufacturers in matters relating to the transportation of merchandise. 

The Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation is wholly owned by the Hong Kong government and receives a government guarantee of HK$30 billion.  Its mission is to encourage and support the export trade through the provision of export credit insurance services to companies with business registration in Hong Kong. The non-profit making corporation provides protection of non-payment risks to exporters arising from political and commercial events for exports of goods and services.

Mr. Lin is in the textile trade, and is Chairman of the Textile Council of Hong Kong. He is Managing Director of Milo’s Knitwear (International) Ltd and Milo’s Manufacturing Co Ltd; and Non-Executive Director of Top Form International Ltd. He is a Director of the Hong-Thailand Business Council, and a Member of the Board of Overseers of Babson College, his alma mater. He is a Member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Committees of Jieyang in Guangzhou and Ji’an in Jiangxi, in Mainland China.

Mr. Lin is the Honorary Consul in Hong Kong for The Slovak Republic. Mr. Lin is married and has two sons.
